I’m here, sorry for the wait…
So it's been a while since I posted.. I have read quite a few books, but as I sit down to write about them I forget everything I wanted to write about.. Go figure, right?
Lets see... Well I read the newest Morganville Vampire series book. The Bite Club was actually very good, but it seems to me that though I truly don't want the series to end, they are prolonging it as much as possible.
I read the first in the Wolves of Mercy Falls series, Shiver. It was so great that I couldn't put it down. I would have finished it in one day, but I almost got caught at 3 a.m. reading, when I had to get up early the next morning. I loved it, though and can't wait to get the next one from the library on Monday.
Before school ended, we were reading The Island of the Blue Dolphins. Though I didn't get to finish it, I started really liking it. The main character was really easy to relate to, and I found myself wondering what it would be like to be her, and if I would have been ale to do what she did. I guess when your survival instinct kicks in you do what you gotta do.
I read the Golden Compass about two months ago and really liked it. I surprised myself by how much I really got into it. I had seen the movie before I read the book, and realized shortly after reading the book exactly how wrong the movie was.. But aren't the movies always like that? I went to see the new Harry Potter movie yesterday, and though I did really enjoy it, there were parts missing and parts added that I was a tad upset about. I have read all of the books and so from the book to the movie, it was portrayed fairly well, but not quite as much as I had wished.
Lately, I've been picking up books to read, getting to about chapter 3, and quitting as I realized how badly they were written. I guess I've become book snob.
I know there are more, and as soon as I post this I'll remember them, but so long for now, and I hope you enjoy what I write!
Happy One-Year Anniversary!
I can't believe I've had this blog for a year now! Its amazing. It feels like much longer yet a much shorter period of time.
Okay, down to business.. I have read and loved these books lately...
- Awakened - by P.C. and Kristen Cast - This series has been amazing, but these past few books haven't been the same... Can't wait for the next one though!
- Breathless - by Heather C. Hudak - Can't wait for the next one!!
- Geek Girl- Cindy C. Bennett - I loved the name, so I had to get it.. It shows that people can change themselves completely.. I really enjoyed it.
- Brother Ray: Ray Charles' Own Story - by David Ritz and Ray Charles - Great for a book source in a research paper
- The Boys Next Door - by Jennifer Echols - LOVED it! I thought the story line was great, and I have to say Jennifer Echols is now one of my favorites
- Major Crush - by Jennifer Echols - Another amazing story. I read it in just a few hours.
- Cinderella in Cleats - by Carly Syms - This one had me hanging on to every word. I felt the emotion in the book, so I was very pleased.
- Sea of Love - by Jamie Ponti - Don't let the name fool you, it may be corny, but not that bad!
- The Ex Games - by Jennifer Echols - I really loved this one.
- Royally Jacked - by Niki Burnham - ADDICTING!!! I wanted to be Valerie so badly!
- Spin Control - by Niki Burnham - The second one after Royally Jacked, and I loved it as much as the first!!
Now to get a copy of Do-Over, the third in the series by Niki Burnham!!!
Fallen
Well at the moment, I am about 10 pages away from finishing Fallen, by: Lauren Kate. It is AMAZING!!!! I have to give the book back tomorrow, then I'm borrowing Torment, the second on in the series, from a friend. I really like the sort of teenage romanics, but with a twist. I guess that's what makes it interesting.
I know I haven't been posting much lately, but thats because I've been on www.storywrite.com I am completely ADDICTED to that website. There are so many different types of stories to find on there. If you are interesting in reading, or writing I suggest you make an account.
I know, I know, I fell off the face of the Earth for far too long.
I know it has been forever since I have posted, but here we go...
Kissed by an Angel, The Power of Love, and Soulmates are a trilogy by Elisabeth Chandler. I wouldn't particularly recomend them, but they weren't a's horrible as they could have been. They came in one large book, so I figured I'd read them. It was the classic loved one turns into a guardian angel but not particularly written well.
My Blood Approves, Fate, Flutter, and Wisdom were a great series. The series name is my blood approves and I really enjoyed these books. I am pretty sure that you can only get them on a ereader, but I would suggest them to anybody who likes vampire books. At
first I thought that they were sort of like Twilight, but I guess with Twilight having so many components as other vampire books it is to be expected. There were times I couldn't put them down, but others where I had to stop reading because I was so emotional about them. They were great books.
The Chronicles of Vladimir Todd: Twelfth Grade Kills was an AMAZING ending to the series. I read the book in less than 5 hours. It had me wanting more with every word. I couldn't believe the ending, but I am so glad it ended this way. Heather Brewer is an amazing author and I'd read her books any day.
I am about to get book 7 of the SWEEP series by Cate Tierman. I am addicted to this series! The series is so much not what I would expect to like, but at the same time exactly like I would expect... I love it though. I think the thong about it that I don't like is that it uses Wicka and that is an actual thing practiced.. Oh well, ireally like it..
I have the book Letters to Elise: A Peter Townsend Novel, which is basically one of the characters from the My Blood Approves series writing his sort of life story before he met Alice. I haven't read the entire thing, but I pretty much get the gist of it...
Last Sacrifice by Rachelle Mead was another AMAZING book. It was the end to the Vampire Academy series and I LOVED it. I was hanging on to every word! I got mad, sad, happy, upset, all of the emotions. I loved the last few paragraphs of the book, and all I could do was laugh. All I could think was "Ohhh Dimitri can live through all of that, but I'd be scared to see what Abe and her momma gonna do to him!!!" It proved how wrong Rose was about her parents and how protective they could be. Yet it had ver little to do with the story as a whole. I was sad that the series ended though...
The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare was really good. I even have one of the little guys who swore he wasn't a reader reading them. I have read all three, and loved all of them. I didn't really want to read them at first, but boy am I happy I did.
The Infernal Devices: Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare was also amazing. It was a prequel to the Mortal Instruments series. I absolutely loved it. Instead of being a Shadow Hunter who had no clue she was one, this main character was a Warlock who thought she was human. The series was amazing.
I read Evernight last year around Christmas time, but it wasn't until recently that I got the second on the series Stargazer. I loved the book and relished every word. Last night I received the third book in the series and I am already on chapter 5.
Thirst NO. 3
I JUST finished Thirst NO. 3. It was actually really good , and not at all wa=hat I expected. Sita ended up never going back in time, and all these new charaters were put in, and ofcorce the story wouldn't be right without Seymore. He is a BIG part in this book, but not in the way of the last books. I think without him, the story would be incomplete. But I must say Sita acted a tad bit more like a teenager than a 5000 year old vampire at times.
I know it took m e so long to post but I've been on storywrite.com everynight. It has storys by people of different backgrounds and in all different genres. I LOVE it!!
Well…
I finished reading City of Ashes last night. It was absolutly awesome. I can't wait to read the next in this series. I have to say, if you don't read the first book, then the relationship between Clary and Jace is completely unappropriate. But if you did read the first one, then the ending makes you so sad! I wanted to slap Jace! Haha but like I said I loved the book.
I have Thirst No. 3 by Christopher Pike. Just the fact that the ending of Thirst No. 2 was so perfect, it makes me wary to read Thirst No. 3. I do have to say though, I thik this book is about someone else because the picture on the front is of someone who looks like her, but I dont think is the main character of the other books. (Sorry I can't remember the name of the main charater in the books. But I think her name started with an S) Oh well, I'm gonna end up reading it though.
Many books!
Okay, first off, those of you who comment on my posts thak you, but those of you who keep trying to sell things on my website pleased stop. It's annoing.
And, I would like to say right now, I have no clue if I have previously posted about some of theese books, but I have yet again been rereading some books. I read the Emily windsnap series which was really good, thought it's getting a little too young for me now. I like the fantasy part, but then again that's what pulls me to most of the stories I read.
The name of the auther of Golden, the book I read a few weeks ago is Jennifer Lynn Barnes. Like a said previouslt, it is an amazing book.
I read part of a book called Dead Girls Don't Write Letters. I have no clue who wrote it, but I didn't particularly like it.
I got the last book in The Chronicles of Vladimir Todd a few weeks ago, and finished it in a matter of hours. It was AMAZING! I loved that entire series, and I have to say, Snow is one of my favorite charaters. If you have read the book, then you know what I'm saying, but when Vladd said he saw strength in Snow to Merrideth, I was soooooooo happy. But, if you hadnt read the book, sorry for confusing you.
I also finished Hush Hush. I don't remember who wrote it, but it was amazing also. I have to say, The main character made me wat to go into the book and slap her quite a few times, but that ended up shaping the story amazingly.
Mom is taking me book shopping this weekend, so I have no clue what book I'm going to blog about next. So untill next time, keep reading!!!
City of Bones
City of Bones was AMAZING! I am soo happy I read it. It was a tad bit predictable in the begining, yet still quite interesting. Towards the end somethings really shock you, and the only thing you want to do is continue reading. And that right there is the definition of a good book if you ask me.
Sorry I know this post is short, but I didn't want to give away too much.
I’m sorry!
I know I haven't posted in a while, but I do have some books to let you know about. But first and foremost.. Why haven't any of you posted books you think I should read!?!?!?!?!?! Okay, my rant is over. Like I said I have read quite alot of books lately.
The Charlie Bone series was really good. it's by Jimmy Nimmo and I gotta say it is sort of out there, and is baraly on the line between getting to young for me and in my age/maturity range. Parents would like it because there is no cursing, and nothing inapropriate. I am on book 5 now and I really like them.
I read Golden and I would tell you who the auther is, but I forgot. I know, I know I need to post and let you know but still. the book was quite good, but could be very confusing if you don't take your time.
Beauty Sleep by Cameron Dokey is horrible, well at least to me. I don't mind princesses, but I don't want to hear a more detailed story about sleeping beauty. Just saying.
Like Water for Chocolate by (I think it's by her) Laura Esquivel should NOT be put in a elementary school library! The content is not appropriate for young childeren. Maybe adults but not young children.
I might have posted about TTYL already, but I'm going to again. TTYL is a pretty good teenage girl book, that talks about things that teenagers in general talk about. It's written in all Insant Messaages, but I think it is a really interesting way of writing.
I recently bought City of Bones by Cassandra Clare and plan on reading soon.
I read The Boy Book, which was good but WARNING it is not the first in the series.. I have yet to read the first, which kinda upsets me.
Now, if you are reading this blog, you will probably have heard of theese sights, but I am going to post them again. www.storywrite.com and www.goodreads.com are two very good sights. that I have recently become addicted to.
New books!
I am extreamly sorry for not posting earlier, but with school starting everything has been hectic. I read The Princess and The Hound by Mette Ivie Harrison which definatly supporst being yourself, even if your afraid no one will like you. The prince of one kingdom is offered to marry the princess of a rival kingdom, but in this love story, you don't really have a qlue whats goin to happen, and Ithink that's what makes it very interesting.
I also read If I Stay by Gayle Forman. It was just about one of the best books I have ever read. A seventeen year old girls life gets turned upside down, when she has to choose between living as an orphan with her grandparents and following her dreams to go to Julliard and be with her boyfriend, or die with the rest of her family who were killed in a car accident. I know it sounds wierd, but it is amazing, and with my past it really makes you think.
